Sports fans regularly attend or watch events for which the outcome is highly likely to go one way. The lack of uncertainty when a champion plays a cellar dweller does not prevent enjoyment of the game. What is necessary, even in that circumstance, is the assumption that the two teams or contestants - however unequal - are playing on a level field. That is, the agreed upon rules are being followed, and it is the play itself, and not any kind of outside-the-rules manipulation that decides the outcome.
